Registration Policies
1. Annual Registration Fee
A non-refundable annual registration fee of $25 --one per family --- is payable every year, valid until Aug 31 of that year. (No reduction for late enrolment). The monies collected from registration fees go to administration, website, and insurance costs. NOTE: As a charitable organization, payment of the registration fee also constitutes membership in our organization, and entitles you to attendance at our Annual General Meeting.
Tuition fees are collected through our online registration system. Upon enrolment, students are billed 100% of tuition.
Optional monthly payment plan: Instead of paying full tuition upon enrolment, you may choose to make regular payments on your balance whereupon a $3.00 monthly surcharge will be added. You will then be sent a statement every month. You will not be able to register for classes in the next term unless your balance is $0.
Payment is by credit card. However, if you wish to pay by E-transfer, simply send monies to nyptheatre@gmail.com. We will update your balance in our online system.
2. Tuition Fees
3. Late enrolment
Students may register after the term has already begun. Tuition fees will be prorated. Some classes that are marked "ongoing enrolment" and will except new students throughout the term. Some classes have dates after which new students can not be accommodated for that term due to the structure /content of the class.
4. Trial Classes
Free trials are offered for all classes: registration is available on our online system. Once you sign up for a free trial, you will be emailed and asked to provide the date that you will be attending. (This helps us plan.) Payment of the registration fee is not required for trial classes.
If the student wishes to continue, they will be charged for the trial class, the registration fee, as well as tuition for the remaining classes.
If the student decides not to continue, they will not be charged for anything.
5. Refunds
After a class begins, no refunds are available. If you aren't sure if your child will enjoy the class - or you aren't sure if the class is a good fit for them-- we strongly advise you to take advantage of our trial class system and choose the payment plan option.
6. Behavioural Expectations
If a child is physically violent, or constantly disruptive in class (argumentative or showing other obstructive behaviour, harassing other students, throwing things, etc.), the parent will be informed. If the behaviour continues, the child will be asked to leave the class, with no refunds given.
7. If a student misses a class
Makeup classes are not available if a student misses a class. In the case of serious illness or injury, credit towards future classes is given.
8. Teacher Cancellations
If a teacher has to cancel a class due to illness, accident, or inclement weather (snow day), students may choose either: (1) a refund for that class, (2) a $25 tax donation receipt for the cancelled class.
9. Switching classes
If possible, a students may switch to a different class/program mid-term; upon which any difference in the tuition amounts will be charged or refunded. Students may only switch classes once per term.
