About Us

Nanaimo Young People's Theatre is a registered charitable organization founded in September 2022. Under our mandate, we operate a theatre school and related drama programming for Nanaimo area young people ages 4 - 18. Our goal is to foster appreciation for the dramatic arts, build welcoming and inclusive spaces for them to learn about acting and the theatre, as well as create memorable theatrical experiences for families.

As an arts organization, we acknowledge, respect and honour the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-as, and Stzuminus people, upon whose ancestral lands we live, gather, and create.

NYPT does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, martial status, national origin (ancestry), disability, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, the appointment to and termination from its Board of Directors, hiring and firing of staff or contractors, selection of volunteers, and providing of services.
