NextGen
Ensemble Theatre
Company

An intergenerational theatre project for FOURTEEN students ages 12-18 in the semi-professional production of a contemporary Canadian play for teen audiences.   Students will share the stage --and receive mentorship and guidance  --from local adult professionals. There will be five performances of the play and production values will be of professional standard.

The company will onsist of

  • 9 actors (ages 12-16) to share the stage with 4 adult professional actors

  • 5 crew  (ages 12-18)  to receive mentorship and guidance from 5 adult theatre professionals in the areas of stage management, lighting, sound, props, costumes, and set design while working in their chosen area of interest.

Due to the nature of the program, there will be an audition/interview process (see below).  A high degree of commitment is expected and required (ie. steady attendance to one or both rehearsal dates), as well as an ability to follow directions and work as a team.(If you let us know in advance, any rehearsal days you must miss, we can accommodate this, too.)

The program runs from January to May (excluding Spring Break)  --- 1-2 days per week (see below) --- for a total of 50-60 hours of instruction, plus 5 performances.  (See working production schedule below)
