Fall Registration for our Drama School open
In this class for 6-8 year olds, students play theatre games and prepare short teacher-led plays for performance. The focus is on listening and team work, as well as exploring the conventions of theatrical performance such as the audience/performer relationship, stage directions, facing the audience, and the importance of staying "in character". The class culminates in a short teacher-led performance in a theatre space for family and friends at our Student Showcase, held at Beban Stage 3 times a year.
Studio 8 is a great introduction to the performing arts as well as excellent preparation for participation in more formal theatre practices (which typically start at age 9).
Is Studio 8 right for my child?
Studio 8 is designed for children ages 6-8 who love to imagine, create, move, and perform. Whether your youngster is outgoing or shy, NYPT's Studio 8 program provides a supportive environment where every students can participate and grow.
